Welcome to the May edition of Continental Drift.
This month sees us back in Natal following a trip to Europe that was impacted by the volcanic eruption in Iceland.
Having just arrived in London, from Cyprus (just before all airports were closed) we made a vain attempt to complete the planned trip to Sicily.
A contingency plan was put in place to get us from London to Lisbon in the event that airports remained closed. We were able to get as far as Paris by train and then returned to London when it was apparent that flights would resume between Gatwick and Lisbon. That's Nature!
Sicily was cancelled. Train fares and hotels created a huge unforeseen expense, but we managed to capture some images in Paris and Surrey!

No changes since the last newsletter due to our travel plans.
Shoot Acai
We have developed a storyboard about acai, and are building a second one (incomplete but visible on the site), to support the sale of acai articles to health food magazines. Acai images continue to sell both directly and via our Alamy collection.
Shoot Froot
We continue to build stock of tropical and general fruit images. Our trip to Cyprus has resulted in numerous fruit images (bananas, olives, figs, pomegranates, various citrus fruits, and carob) that will be loaded to both our stock libraries and to the Shoot Froot site.
Library sites
Now that we are back in our Natal studio we will resume the development of our library site portfolios at Alamy and Photographers Direct.

The quality and price of micro stock is acceptable to many buyers' budgets, but there are some downsides to consider:

Some photographers, Alan Skyrme Photography included, do not plan on producing images for the micro stock market. Our preference is in supplying high quality editorial standard images that suits the needs of the discerning buyer.
